Recipe Cards

All recipes from the last issue of Gourmet were written out in script on index cards.  Guests were encouraged to make notations on the cards as they cooked.

Guest Book

All guests were asked to sign the handmade guest book as they entered the wake and to add personal comments.

Invitations

Pocket tri-fold invitations were handmade and letterpressed, each including

a recipe card from the final issue.  Guests were encouraged to “dress

appropriately” and to make any necessary alterations or notations to the dish or recipe card.

Gone

This artist book was the initial stage of the Gourmet Wake Project.  The mason jar includes 12 recipe cards and several shredded pages from the last Gourmet issue.  After the book was completed, the artist chose to continue to write out all the recipes in the issue and to plan a wake.

Vegware

All dinnerware and utensils were by Vegware, a company that makes biodegradable, disposable products out of plants and natural resources.
